RELIEF EXPEDITIONARY DELIVERY CORPS - REDC
The Order's veteran-led Relief Expeditionary Delivery Corps, known as REDC (pronounced RED-SEA), consists of Order Members who volunteer actively to provide disaster relief and assistance wherever it is needed. Since 2020, REDC has served in over 30 humanitarian missions. Our operations have ranged from delivering hundreds of meals during COVID-19, to international expeditionary aid missions.
When things seem hopeless, REDC is here to help. With natural disasters on the rise, wars around the globe, and poverty seemingly everywhere, people are in need. REDC responds when it counts and makes a crucial impact in the lives of those affected.

With proven expeditionary capability, REDC responds to the needs of people worldwide. REDC has and will continue to serve those in the greatest need in time of crisis, whether they be local or in distant lands. It is our mission to help anyone we can, wherever we can, however we can.

REDC volunteers believe it is their calling to take part in a mission greater than themselves, making a positive difference in the world. REDC's guiding principles are found in Christ's teachings in the gospel of Matthew (25:31-40), namely to help all people at all times.

WHY DOES REDC WEAR HATS?
The custom of wearing hats has been around for centuries, and no one can deny the practicality of keeping the sun off of one's head. REDC adopted its blue and yellow peaked caps in 2020, which served as a practical piece of clothing as well as a way to identify our volunteers serving on missions. After proudly wearing them for four years, the peaked caps are being retired from field service in favor of old west style hats.
Old west style hats have an undeniably American flair that evokes a sense of courage, a desire for adventure, and the love of freedom, qualities that all vlounteers serving in the Order have. These new hats will serve us well in our disaster relief operations, keeping the sun and rain off while providing an instantly recognizable symbol of hope for Order of the Silver Star's humanitarian efforts.
