The Order and HAT, our Humanitarian Aid Team, are led by a corps of dedicated volunteer staff members. No compensation is offered to any staff member and all service is rendered on a voluntary basis. We serve to help make the world a better place, and believe that it is our privilege to serve, not our job.

Mark W. Chapman
President
HAT Commander
Mark is the founder of the Order of the Silver Star and a veteran of the Air Force Reserve. Mark enlisted in the Reserves in 2015 as a Client Systems Technician in the 910th Communications Squadron. He deployed in 2019 in support of operations FREEDOM'S SENTINEL and INHERENT RESOLVE, receiving an honorable discharge in 2021 as a Staff Sergeant. He has worked in the information technology industry for Keyfactor company since 2017 and is currently employed there as a senior solutions architect. Mark holds a bachelor's degree in history from Liberty University. Mark is the Commander of the Order's Humanitarian Aid Team - HAT. He leads the charge when it comes to planning missions for the HATs and is a driving force behind the Order's ongoing mission and vision.
Eric T. Felton
Executive Director
HAT Master of Arms
Eric is a founding member of the Order of the Silver Star and veteran of the Air Force Reserve. Eric served in the Reserves from 2012 to 2018 as a Client Systems Technician with the 910th Communications Squadron, earning his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant. He has earned graduate degrees both in business and information technology. Eric has led a 12-year career spanning positions both government and corporate, for both public and private interests. He is currently employed as a Network Security Engineer for Lubrizol. Eric serves as the Master of Arms for the Humanitarian Aid Team - HAT. He is an invaluable part of the Order's mission planning, volunteer coordination, and a major contributor to our continued success.
Ryan L. Chapman
Director of Operations
HAT Vice-Commander
Ryan is a founding member of the Order of the Silver Star and IT professional. Throughout high school Ryan was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, volunteering hundreds of hours serving in the local community. In 2016 he worked as a contractor, assessing storm damage and coordinating repairs. In 2019 he began his career in information technology and now serves as the lead technician and point of escalation for Lightspeed Hosting. Ryan is the Vice-Commander of the Order's Humanitarian Aid Team - HAT. He is a tireless asset who is instrumental throughout all phases of organizational and critical mission planning.
